Gavin Hardkiss has, in the past, recorded a number of wonderful albums under his Hawke psuedonym including the revered Love Won Another, Namaquadisco, and Heatstroke LPs. Autumn 2008 reveals a new chapter in his saga with the first release under the name Gavin Hardkiss. Gavin recently returned to his adopted home of San Francisco after several years traveling throughout California. Likewise, this release documents the relocation with a return to the clubbier, psychedelic sounds that continue the story of the Hardkiss influence on the Bay Area electronic music scene.
Three original, blistering tech-house cuts make up The Knight Of The Hawke Fields led by the brilliant "Fields Of No Name" which sounds like a sleek night flight across the San Francisco skyline. The funky magic continues with the sublime statements "Can I Borrow Your Cane" and "Necrotone", further building on Gavin's unique electronic sound. The EP is already getting club play from a diverse crop of DJs which includes Sasha, Sandy Rivera, Hernan Cattaneo, Murray Richardson, Tyler Stadius, and Jay West.
